Paradise is located in the northeastern portion of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It borders the western shoreline of Whitefish Bay and the southern coast of Lake Superior. Founded in 1925, Paradise is surrounded by state and national forests and its main business is tourism. It is considered one of two gateways to the Tahquamenon Falls area as well as Tahquamenon Falls State Park. The area draws hunters, fishers, campers, backpackers, snowmobilers and birdwatchers. The region harvests blueberries and cranberries in season. It is also the home of the blueberry festival held the 3rd full weekend in August each summer. Freighters can be seen as the Lake Superior shipping lanes are just a few miles off shore. With an average snowfall of 200 plus inches per year, Paradise is also a Winter playground!
